A charging cable for the plug-in BMW X5, covering the xDrive45e of 2019 to 2023 and the xDrive50e sold from 2023. Both charge through a Type 2 inlet and take a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, which is the only way power reaches the battery, since neither car has a DC rapid charging socket. The 21.6 kWh xDrive45e accepts 3.7 kW. The 25.7 kWh xDrive50e accepts 7.4 kW on single phase, and cars produced from March 2025 accept 11 kW on three phase. A UK home supply is single phase, so the car draws at most 7.4 kW at home, and the 32A single phase cable delivers that in full on an xDrive50e, or the 3.7 kW ceiling of the xDrive45e. Lengths are 5, 10, 15 and 20 metres, the 15 and 20 metre leads in 32A single phase only. Built to IEC 62196-2 and CE certified, IP55 sealed, rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin.
